The Crafty Collaborations Team is comprised of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world. Each month we participate in several collaborative projects, including Blog Hops, like this one to inspire all of us in our passion for crafting. Our Goal is to create, share, and inspire every crafter to keep our creative energy flowing.
Today's feature is a Valentine theme. Creators will share some valentine project ideas just in time for you to create for your loved ones.
The quintessential valentine set to handle any of your Valentine needs in the 2022 Jan-June mini catalog is Sweet Talk Suite. The Sweet Conversations Stamp set has so many elements, and great sentiments to create fun valentine cards. Bundle it with the Sweet Heart Dies and you can create any number of unique gifts. The Gingham embossing folder is also my new favorite folder. I've created quite a few cards using this as a background layer.
I've been seeing a few Tic Tac Toe cards and really like the idea. I think they can be both playful for a child, masculine for the guy in your life, or make it more girly with pink hues. My main concern was how do I get the game borders lined up. I am horrible at straight lines. As I searched through ideas, it came to me that the Pattern Party Host Paper, has a black striped paper I can easily trim and use to create the game border spaces. It is also a thinner paper to adhere/overlap than cardstock strips would be. I cut 4 of the black only stripes and cut it down to 3", applying it onto the white 3 x 3 layer with a bit of multipurpose glue.
As you can see, the borders look straight and pretty well spaced to allow for the stamped images. You can stamp the "X" and Hearts wherever you like on the 'board' as long as you create a 'win' with the hearts. The middle made the most sense to me so the sentiment is placed over it.
You'll notice this is a square card, 4 1/4 x 4 1/4. I figured this was a simple way to figure out the math of a square 3 x 3 game area. The real red cardstock layer is embossed with the Gingham folder and attached to the black base. The 3x3 game is attached with dimensionals to the red layer. The sentiment is heat embossed with white embossing powder, die cut with the small rectangle and also attached with dimensionals. I embellished with black matte dots.
I wanted to add a little something on the inside, and the X and heart are a perfect touch in the corner with the sentiment. I'm going to make another card with Melon Mambo colors to give it a more female touch thinking this black & red one could be a great card for that game playing guy in your life.
