Share it Sunday Blog Hop - April 2023

The Crafty Collaborations Team is comprised of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world. Each month we participate in several collaborative projects, including Blog Hops, like this one to inspire all of us in our passion for crafting. Our Goal is to create, share, and inspire every crafter to keep our creative energy flowing.

Today features the 'monthly Share It Sunday' projects where the team shares any project that have been working on

My daughter and her husband live in a small farming community in Canada. They bought the local coffee shop in March. They will be opening in May, and I want to give her some handmade gift card holders for customers that purchase a gift card. I turned to Pinterest and found a great example made by Nicole Wise. A link to her instructions is listed in the card details below.

I made 50 gift card holders and used mostly "brights" color combos when making these and stuck with Early Espresso ink for all of them.

You can write a little note on the inside. Customers are sure to love this handmade gift card holder to use when gifting their gift card.

Crafty Challenge Blog Hop - April 2023

The Crafty Collaborations Team is comprised of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world. Each month we participate in several collaborative projects, including Blog Hops, like this one to inspire all of us in our passion for crafting. Our Goal is to create, share, and inspire every crafter to keep our creative energy flowing.

Today features the monthly Crafty Challenge where the team creates projects using the below 5 elements.

I do not often use masking for my technique. When I saw the 3x3 in the list, I thought, I can cut out a 3x3 mask and blend around it with an in-color ink - See below photo. I'll then fill in the blank mask space with a 3x3 square of DSP knocking out 4 of the criteria pretty quickly!

Here is the finished product. I incorporated 'For you' in the overall sentiment.

Card Details
  • Stamps
    • Color & Contour (continuing in 23-24 annual catalog!)
  • Paper
    • Orchid Oasis card Base: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 score 4 1/4; scrap for sentiment die cut
    • Basic White: (2) layers for top and inside 5 1/4 x 4
    • Fancy Flora 6x6 designer series paper: 3x3 square
  • Ink
    • Orchid Oasis
  • Other
    • Masking Paper
    • Blending Brushes
    • Stampin" Cut & Emboss
    • Stylish Shapes Dies
    • 2022-2024 In Color Matte dots
    • Adhesives: Seal, Multipurpose glue, Dimensionals
Now Let's dig into more collaborative fun. Grab a beverage, sit back, and enjoy the hop! I hope you find awesome ideas and inspiration for your projects.

Don’t forget about the Last Chance Lists: Supplies are limited but there still may be some good deals!

Scrapbooking Global April 20 Blog Hop - Blind Scrapping

The Scrapbooking Global Team is comprised of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world. Each month we participate in a scrapbooking Blog Hop Theme, like this one, to inspire all of us in our passion for crafting. Our Goal is to create, share, and inspire every crafter to keep our creative energy flowing.

Today's theme is brought to you by Courtenay Heuston and is titled Blind Scrapping Courtenay gave us details list of items to use form our Stampin' Up stash and instructions on the layout. I have never participated in a challenge like this and was intrigued to see how the layout would turn out.

We received am instruction list that gave us measurements for the various paper elements, lots of extra doodling or stamping, more embellishments/die cut elements than I normally use, along with recommendations on where to place them, I picked my photo first which help me pick the colors/papers for the project. I know I've used Texture Chic elements in a few layouts recently, but the colors were prefect for the photo and the Memories & More card pack elements work fabulously for scrapbook layouts!!

Once I figured out my elements, the layout came together quickly. The added stamping around the edge of the base layer really does add a nice, subtle touch. I love this photo of my daughter and her family from their vacation in MX. I'll let her add some journalling in the lower right corner.

Layout Details

  • Stamps
    • Decorative Borders - Instructions asked for doodle or stamping around edge of 12x12 base and strips of Designer series paper. I don't doodle well so I decided to use s simple stamp
  • Paper
    • Basic White 12x12 base
    • Texture Chic Designer Series Paper: (3) strips: 12 x 3 -adhered across middle of paper; 10x 2 adhered vertically 1" from left hand edge; 8 x 2 adhered vertically 3" from left hand edge.
    • Soft Suede: 5 1/4 x 7 3/8 layer for 5 x 7 photo
    • Brushed Metallic: 3 1/2 x 2 for die cut tag layer, scrap with adhesive sheet for title letters
    • Texture Chic Memories & More: 3 cards trimmed: Die Cut Tag top layer; upper right corner sentiment; lower right corner journalling.
      • Various embellishments throughout the layout. Large floral in lower right-hand corner of photo was fussy cut and then cut in half to adhere on either side of corner (per challenge instructions)
    • Today is The Day Memories & More: various gold elements, hearts & stars from the card pack used as embellishments.
  • Ink
    • Soft Suede
