The Crafty Collaborations Team is comprised of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world. Each month we participate in several collaborative projects, including Blog Hops, like this one to inspire all of us in our passion for crafting. Our Goal is to create, share, and inspire every crafter to keep our creative energy flowing.
Today features the monthly Technique Tuesday. Decembers theme is Vintage Techniques, where the team of creators will share their favorite vintage technique, tip, or hack!
Vintage cards are definitely outside of my comfort zone. I think the Very Versailles Stamp set is a perfect choice for vintage cards.
Creating a vintage look also lends itself well to neutral, muted colors. Lots of texture is another element of vintage cards. Sponging, along with torn paper, is a perfect technique to make your card look vintage. You can see in the below tags that I added all sort of texture with sponging, random stamping and some ripped paper.
Ribbon/embellishments is another element with vintage cards. I did not add any embellishment, but I did add ribbon/twine, perfect for tags. I selected both a notecard size base card a regular 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 size card base along with coordinating designer series paper. The Simply Elegant paper definitely has a vintage look to it. I really liked how the Beauty of the Earth paper coordinate well with the tag. I mounted the tags onto the card bases with dimensional.
