The Crafty Collaborations Team is comprised of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world. Each month we participate in several collaborative projects, including Blog Hops, like this one to inspire all of us in our passion for crafting. Our Goal is to create, share, and inspire every crafter to keep our creative energy flowing.
Today features the 'Monthly Technique Tuesday' projects where the team shares projects related to a specific technique. This month's topic is Heat Embossing. This technique can really make a card go from plain to fantastic!
The first image had a combination of white and silver in it and the 3rd image is all white. With this folder, it does seem less powder is best so that the images have some definition.
Next, I selected the star-crossed embossing folder. I also tried inking both sides of this folder and put silver embossing on top and white on bottom. I really like how this turned out. You can see the punched out trees in the below photo as well.
Product List Instead of using the embossed image as a full layer, I decided to use the Pine Tree Punch to cut out some trees. These turned out really fun.
Now to put the pieces together. I decided to trim up the Star-Crossed layer and see how the trees looked on it. Keeping with the silver theme, I added a layer of Whimsy & Wonder Designer Series Paper. It still needed something else and so I added a layer of Misty Moonlight Card Stock, which really popped the silver.
I added the sentiment and decided to emboss that in silver as well. Last, I added some basic rhinestones to the tops of each tree and on each side of the sentiment.

This can be a really fun technique with the right kind of embossing folder. Busier images definitely need less embossing powder. It is fun to test inking both sides folder to see which one you like best.
Now Let's dig into more collaborative fun, Grab a beverage, sit back, and enjoy the hop! I hope you find awesome ideas and inspiration for your projects.
