Today's feature project is based on the below sketch.

I purchased the adorable "Glad We're Friends" stamp set during the 24 hr stamp sale and have not played with it yet. I thought this sketch would be a good card to sample it with. 

I think this guinea pig is so cute and the sentiment is just too fun. The Butterfly Kisses DSP is a perfect companion of bright colors to make it a great day!

Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop - In Memoriam

The Crafty Collaborations Team is comprised of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world. Today features the monthly Stampin' Dreams topic, In Memoriam. The creators will be sharing projects of remembrance. Whether for a holiday such as Remembrance or Armistice Day or a general card of sympathy or shared thoughts and prayers, celebrating those we've lost.

My father served in the Navy over in Korea for a few years after the war ended there. Our family is thankful for his service and for the medical services the VA provides to veterans. While he is still alive, I still like to celebrate Veteran's Day with him and created this remembrance card. 

I don't have too many stamps related to remembrance, but the Peaceful Moments sentiment set does have this sentiment. I decided to use the unique circle image from the Treasured Kindness stamp in the background. The card turned out to have a unique, tranquil effect that I'm really pleased with.

Crafty Challenge Blog Hop - October 2022 Sketch Inspiration

I made some holiday cards in early September using the Boughs of Holly 12x12 designer series paper. I had some scraps leftover that are perfect for this sketch. Additionally, I had fussy cut a whole sheet of florals from one of the design sheets, a few of which were not full sets of flowers but work perfectly as an edge behind this circle. 

Love how this card turned out and will definitely make a few more from the remaining scraps.

Paper Pumpkin Blog Hop -October 2022

Welcome to the September kit Paper Pumpkin Blog Hop. A Group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators join to create collaboratively using the current Paper Pumpkin Kit. Specifically, we design alternative cards, scrapbook pages, or other paper projects using the contents of the kit and a few coordinating additions from our own stash.

The October Paper Pumpkin HO Ho Ho kit contains:

Whimsical designs of Santa and his reindeer in a classic Christmas color palette which is sure to match various styles of holiday décor and look great on mantles everywhere. Each kit contains enough supplies to create 9 festive cards—3 each of 3 designs—and 9 coordinating envelopes. 

Supplies include: 

• Ho Ho Ho Photopolymer Stamp Set
• Early Espresso Classic Stampin’ Spot
• Printed card bases and Printed envelopes: Card size: 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" (10.8 x 14 cm)
• Printed die cuts and Die-cut labels
• Iridescent foil die-cut snowflakes
• Vellum
• Vanilla expoy dots
• Adhesive dots & Mini Dimensionals

Coordinating Stampin’ Up! colors: Bermuda Bay, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Shaded Spruce, Sweet Sorbet, Very Vanilla

For my alternative card, I decided to cut one of the envelopes and base cards to make 2 cards, one of which I am highlighting here today. You can see the envelope paper underneath the stencil layer that I trimmed down to fit smaller on the card. 

 

Additionally, I used a blending brush to create my own "Merry" from the stencil in the kit because I want to use up all of the die cut ones from the kit. I struggled a bit with the 'e' but overall, I like how it turned out. This can easily double the 3 cards made with this base/envelope with very few extra supplies from your stash.

• Top portion of kit card base trimmed to 5 1/4 x 4 
• Red striped envelope: trimmed to 2 7/8 x 3 7/8
• Snowflake stencil layer trimmed to 3 x 4 -adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals to envelope layer
• Basic White: 3 x 1 1/2 to blend and cut "Merry" -note I added black dashes to outline the Merry 
• scrap for sentiment -adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals from the kit
• 5 1/4 x 4 inside layer of card 
• Ink
• Cherry Cobbler 
• Other
• Embellishments from the kit
• Blending Brushes
