Paper Pumpkin Blog Hop - March 2022

Welcome to the March kit Paper Pumpkin Blog Hop. A Group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators join to create collaboratively using the current Paper Pumpkin Kit. Specifically, we design alternative cards, scrapbook pages, or other paper projects using the contents of the kit and a few coordinating additions from our own stash

Every March, Paper Pumpkin celebrates it's anniversary and adds a free 2nd stamp set to the kit. This March kit is absolutely beautiful! So many options to create with it.

This month’s Beyond the Horizon Paper Pumpkin Kit kit contains enough elements to create 9 cards—3 each of 3 designs—and 9 coordinating envelopes. This all-inclusive kit includes printed 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card bases and envelopes, die-cut paper pieces, embellishments, adhesive, and more!
  • The stamp set is perfect for any occasion. With sentiments that say “thanks”, “hello”, “thinking of you,” and so many more, you’ll be able to use this stamp set year round.
  • It includes a Misty Moonlight Stampin' spot. Coordinating colors are: Bumblebee, Calypso Coral, Evening Evergreen, Misty Moonlight, Night of Navy, Old Olive, Pale Papaya
  • This kit perfectly coordinates with the New Horizons Suite Collection in our January–June 2022 Mini Catalog Which means even more exclusive elegant watercolor designs curated by our in-house artists just for you!

I decided to use the free extra stamp set that has some beautiful floral images and additional sentiments. I created the below simple, but elegant card. I added the ribbon and embellishments from the kit. Inks for the flower is night of navy and misty moonlight. Leaves are old olive.

I loved the floral image so much I decided to create another card using the triple time technique. You start out with a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of basic white and randomly stamp the floral and leaf images. I used Polished Pink and Mango Melody to randomly stamp the image. When the colors overlapped it created a more orange pink look which is a nice touch in the card. I snuck the leaves in where there was open white space.

Next I decided to use Mango Melody as the base card only (5 1/2 x 8 1/4 scored at 4 1/4") The rest of the layers are polished pink. Using the stitched rectangle dies, I die cut the stamped images and then the layers with various size of the die cuts. The floral and card stock layer were then adhered to each other and adhered in layers with Stampin' Seal onto the main card base.

Lastly I chose the birthday sentiment and decided to die cut it with a tag and added a ribbon. This is such a fun and bright card anyone will want to receive for their birthday!

Don’t forget to check out all the fun projects made as part of this blog hop! The Crafty Collaborations group puts on several blog hops a month, as well as monthly tutorial bundles, and other ‘work smarter not harder’ projects.

Spotlighting Stampin' Up! fabulous Cardstock Blog Hop

The Crafty Collaborations Team is comprised of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world. Each month we participate in several collaborative projects, including Blog Hops, like this one to inspire all of us in our passion for crafting. Our Goal is to create, share, and inspire every crafter to keep our creative energy flowing.

Today the blog group will showcase our favorite tips and techniques to using cardstock! Stampin' Up! cardstock is one of the best in the industry and a staple in any paper crafter's stash.

There are 4 card color collections Stampin' Up! offers along with 2 in-color options that rotate out every other year. I checked my stash and put strips of left over card stock from each collection. Below is from the Regals collection, which is one of my favorites. I made a few of these strip layers using 1/2", 3/4" and 5/8" wide strips of varying lengths. I decided the 5/8" is my preferred width, but you can mix and match based on what you have in your stash.

Start off with a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" Basic white cardstock (regular, not the thick) The main trick to adhering the strips is to first adhere Adhesive sheets cut to size. Use your Take Your Pick tool to peel off the full layer onto the cardstock, and then peel off each of the adhesive 2" protective layers to adhere the cardstock strips to the adhesive on the white base layer,

The above shows the back side with the excess lengths hanging out the card stock. Take your scissors and simply cut off the excess. Turn it over and trim the layer as needed. The below was trimmed to 5" x 3 3/4".

With Spring in the air, weddings/showers begin to take place. I decided to use the strips in my stash from the Subtles Cardstock  collection to make a card for an upcoming shower I'm attending.

I'm having fun playing with the Artistically Inked Bundle and decided to use the large floral die cut to lay over all the pretty strips of paper. Using the adhesive sheets on the basic white cardstock before die cutting this flower makes attaching this delicate die cut much easier.

Using your cardstock scraps is a great way to create a colorful background. The Color collections are designed to coordinate well together. Use your cardstock strips and give this technique a try!

Now Let's dig into more collaborative fun. Grab a beverage, sit back, and enjoy the hop! I hope you find awesome ideas and inspiration for your projects.

Graduation card using Artistically Inked and Celebrating You

 Hello crafters!

Between figuring out what I need to submit for taxes and extra appointments with my dad, I've not had much time for blogging lately. Also, I hope to have my pre-order for the new catalog items this week and may host an impromptu Facebook live to show you what I ordered. Catalogs should arrive early next week to start handing out!

I did create several cards at my last craft retreat and had some graduation cards to think about. These graduation's sneak up on me so quickly! I recently received the All Together 6x6 designer series paper that has various designs of black and white in the collection. I think black and white colors are perfect for graduation so I played with making a card.

I also decided to use the Artistically Inked Bundle, one of my favorites from the 2021-22 Annual catalog. Bundles of stamp set and dies are sold at a 10% discount. Both the stamp set and dies will carry over into the 2022-23 annual catalog, but not at the reduced bundle pricing. They will only be sold separately. If this stamp set and die is on your wish list, purchase it while it is 10% off before the last chance items end 5/2/2022.

This card is generic enough to send to someone who has recently had a promotion, or a new purchase, etc. Or just because you want to let them know you are proud of them!

      • This piece I stamped the large stamp image in the set that looks like alcohol ink

      • Tip: add the adhesive sheet to this before die cutting, it will work much better to adhere to the card
      • Tip: Use Take your pick tool to get the adhesive backing off. The die cut is delicate so be gentle

Have a fabulous April. Hope you are planning to create and send out Easter cards to family and Friends. I have Easter cards available to purchase if you need any. There's also May Day on May 1st. Consider sending out floral cards (Instead of May Baskets) to celebrate the anticipation of summer!
