Our Feature Technique for this blog is Dry Embossing. Stampin' Up! has many dry embossing folders to choose from: 20 in the annual catalog, 5 in the Sept - Dec Mini and a few more in the online exclusives. I have shared my love for music in the past and chose the Merry Melody 3 D Embossing Folder for todays dry embossing.
I decided to pair the embossing folder with cut up portions of the Gold brushed card. This paired perfectly with the music design from the Joyful 12 x 12 Specialty designer series paper. I then stamped one of the outline images from the Heartfelt Hexagon set along with a sentiment from the Hope & Peace stamp set; so many perfect sentiments for Christmas in this set. This was punched with the hexagon punch and a few dies from the Earthen Texture dies were added behind the punched sentiment to add some dimension/color.
Look at that gold pop on this card! I made two of these so someone with a love for music is going to love receiving these cards.
Card Details
- Stamps
- Hope & Peace stamp set
- Heartfelt Hexagon Bundle - included hexagon punch
- Paper
- Cherry Cobble Cards Base: 7 1/4 x 4 1/4 scored at 4 1/4
- scraps for earthen texture dies
- Basic White: 2 1/2 x 2 for sentiment punch
- Brushed Gold Cards: Cut Card Base in half = 4 1/4 x 5 1/2, cut in half again 2 3/4 x 4 1/4
- Cut other 4 1/4 x 5/12 card to 5 1/4 x 1 1/2 (this should have the most gold from the card) and 5 1/2 x 2 1/2 -you'll flip this to be the white inside to write on.
- Emboss both the 5 1/2 x 1 1/2 and 4 1/4 x 2 3/4
