The Kits Collection Blog Hop

The Crafty Collaborations Team is comprised of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world. Each month we participate in several collaborative projects, including Blog Hops, like this one to inspire all of us in our passion for crafting. Our Goal is to create, share, and inspire every crafter to keep our creative energy flowing.

Today's blog hop theme will be projects using our Kit's Collection. My customers know that I am an avid user of our kits collections, namely with my monthly Coffee and Cards group. These kits make it so easy for me and the group to create cards given our limited space at the cafe! My group has grown into a regular attendance of 6-8 ladies and I've added an evening group for those that can't attend during the day.

There are a total of 20 kits to choose from in the collection. All sets include card bases/envelopes, supplies to create the cards, etc. 15 sets include a stamp set specific for the kit theme, and will also include a glass block to mount your stamps and a coordinating colored ink spot for stamping.

Stampin' Up! offers 3 generic videos on the kits:
  • What’s in your kit video
  • How To Stamp video
  • Adhesives & Embellishments video
Additionally there are unboxing instructional videos available for all 20 kits. Perfect for the beginner stamper or just to have to follow along with the instructions in your kit. I typically send the video to  my customers when they order a kit.

I've created cards using almost all of the kits with my Coffee & Card class. For this blog hop I decided to share a few alternatives using the stamp sets and a few supplies from my stash to show how you can continue to get use from the kit with the stamp set once you have used up the card supplies.

One of our newest kits is called "The Best Remedy". This adorable kit has the cutest sayings to send a card when someone is not feeling well, or maybe had an accident or just needs a cute little pick me up like telling them "Ice Cream is the best Remedy for this". In the above cards I used:
  • Sentiment die cuts leftover from the kit to stamp my sentiments.
  • Stampin" Blends to color the skunk and the bird and fussy cut both images.  The bird image is from the Happy Hedgehog set
  • Both cards use the Butterfly Kisses Designer Series Paper.
  • Embellishments are leftovers from the kit.
This set is fast becoming my new favorite kit and I can't wait to make cards from it with my Coffee & Cards group.

This card I made with the Little Smile card kit. The cards that come with the kit are smaller 3x3 style cards to hand out or attach to a gift. The stamp set has a lot of versatility to create alternative cards. I used:
  • Note Cards & envelopes which come in a pack of 20 ready to create with
  • Pool Party card base layer
  • Crumb Cake Ink - sentiment tag is left over form the kit
  •  I used the empty die cut images from the kit as outline for the fussy cut starfish and shell stamped images.
    • TIP: when you remove your die cut images in a kit remember to keep some of the empty outline as they can be used like this in a card or used to line up the images onto your card.
  • Crumb Cake String

Last but not least, the Sentimental Rose Kit, which has been a longstanding kit in our line up. The rose image in the kit is just beautiful and the sentiments are the perfect ones to have on hand for traditional greeting cards. In this card I used:
  • Flirty Flamingo card base and ink for the rose
  • Soft Sea Foam ink for the leaves (4)
  • Butterfly Kisses Designer Series Paper for the layer
  • Basic white card stock to stamp and fussy cut the rose and leaf images along with the sentiment
  • 22-23 In-Color Opal rounds for embellishments
This card came together very quickly, which is perfect for a novice crafter!

Now Let's dig into more collaborative fun. Grab a beverage, sit back, and enjoy the other inspiration form participants in the hop!.
