I decided to keep my layout simple by adding a layer of plain vellum to mute the bold colors in my layout.

- Paper - TIP: lay the 4 blocks of color paper next to each other to line them up into the base white and then glue down one at a time to keep them in line with each other.
- Basic White: 12 x 12 base sheet + 2" x 3 1/4" & 1" x 2 5/8 for sentiments
- Pacific Point: 5 3/4 x 5 3/4
- Poppy Parade: 5 3/4 x 5 3/4 + scrap for alphabet die cuts adhered with adhesive sheet before die cutting.
- Granny Apply Green: 5 3/4 x 5 3/4
- Crushed Curry: 5 3/4 x 5 3/4
- Vellum 8 1/2 x 11 - added a 2 1/2" layer to get the 11 x 11 layer over top of 4 color block

- Adhesives: Seal, Multipurpose glue, adhesive sheets, Dimensionals.
- Tip: I fussy cut the cake picture with the cake topper and adhered with dimensionals along with the Happy Birthday sentiment

You're right - the layer of vellum works perfectly to tone down those bright colours and it gives an awesome frame too!! Totally brilliant.
