Today's creations are inspired by music! This may be based on a song, a musical element, or however someone may interpret the prompt.
Those who know me well know that music is a huge part of my life. My mother often made the comment I was singing since birth! I sang every opportunity I could and joined/qualified to sing in special groups most of my life. I started piano lessons when I was 5, switched to percussion when I was 10, including private lessons. I excelled at percussion, participating in state orchestra, Minneapolis youth symphony, etc. My music teacher really wanted me to pursue a career with music/percussion, but I could not figure out how that would pay my bills.
With the above in mind, singing really is my passion and I currently still enjoy karaoke. When I was young, and even currently, I often joke around and sing songs with an 'opera' voice, holding my hands together, create loud booming opera, etc. As I was thinking of an idea for this blog hop, I thought of the Wagner opera, " The Valkyrie" which is based on Norse Mythology. The main character is a female, Brunnhilde, who is traditionally presented as a very buxom lady, typically dressed in Viking like clothing. The end scene of the opera is 20 minutes long, and is essentially about the end of the world, hence, the saying "It's not over until the fat lady sings" Wikipedia reference It ain't over till the fat lady sings - Wikipedia
I'm sure you can guess where I'm going with this. The Brave Viking stamp set has a perfect female Viking image that I decided to use to create my project for this blog hop. Fire is a significant symbol in this opera/Valkyrie legend, so I decided to use Calypso Coral as my main color, with some additional blending, and gold foil in the background. I thought the Painted Texture embossing also helped create a mixed look of flames.
