Saturday, my favorite day of the week. Once a month the DO Stamper Stars have a fun Zoom meeting on a Thursday night. During the meeting we participate in a Mystery card challenge. It's always fun to see all the different kinds of cards that get created from a few simple instructions.
This weeks card we were given the following details on supplies needed before the Zoom Meeting.
PAPER:___Card base: half sheet of cardstock
___Designer Series Paper (DSP): three 2" x 2" pieces - preferably three different patterns
___Basic White (or vanilla): 3-3/4" x 5"
___Coordinating CS for layering 4" x 5-1/4", and one 2-1/8" x 2-1/8" (these two pieces can be the same color, or two different colors to coordinate with the DSP)
___scraps to use with punch or dies (see stamp bundle)
STAMP/BUNDLE: choose a stamp set with Punch or Die Bundle to create fun images.
INKS: to match
OTHER: Ribbon/Trim, Embellishment jewels/dots - optional
TOOLS: bone folder, scissors and adhesive
I choose the Sweet Strawberry bundle. I recently received the Strawberry Builder punch and wanted to give it a try. For the Designer Series Paper, I had some scraps from the Expressions in Ink that I wanted to use up. I paired this with In Colors Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent and Pale Papaya under the DSP layers.
I ended up using several inks to create the strawberry, stem, leaves and flowers - see product list below. Additionally, I used the tailored tag to punch the sentiment and added a few rhinestones.
As you can see, there are lots of elements and colors to this card. I was not sure how it would turn out, but I think it is a 'Sweet" card - :)
Thanks for stopping by my blog. Please leave a comment below and give this mystery card challenge a try. There are many different ways to arrange the squares and elements. I'd love to see how you complete the challenge.
