Share It Sunday - July Blog Hop featuring Sweet Symmetry DSP and Biggest Wish

The Crafty Collaborations Team is comprised of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world. If you read my post from yesterday on the Designer Series Paper Inspiration Blog Hop, you know I had a leftover piece of DSP that was cut from one end of the card in triangle shape. Waste note, want not, I decided to make a card out of it. 

Laying out the various pieces, I ended up making a Bookbinder Fun Fold- super easy fun fold card. I embossed the Flirty Flamingo piece to add some texture to the card as well. Love how it turned out!

  • Biggest Wish
Paper:
  • Night of Navy: Base: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored 4 1/3 and 3 3/4 - this makes the 'book binder' fold as you glue between the score and then fold back the front at the 3 3/4 score line. 
  • Sweet Symmetry Designer Series Paper: 5/14 x 4, cut diagonally use 1/2, or make 2 cards!
    • Strip 5/8" of 11/16" x 5 1/5 
    • strip inside card: 1/2" x 3 3/8"
  • Very Vanilla: front: 2 51/4 x 3 2/4 -die cut, inside note card:3 3/8 x 5 1/4
  • Flirty Flamingo: 3 1/4 x 5 1/4 - embossed

  • Flirty Flamingo,  Night of Navy,

  • Stitched so Sweetly Die
  • Greenery Embossing Folder

DOSWTS 367 - Designer Series Paper Inspiration Blog Hop

Welcome to the DO Stamper Stars Blog Hop. The DO Stamper Stars is comprised of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who are part of Dawn Olchefske's leader team. Each month we participate in 2 Blog Hops, like this one, to inspire all of us in our passion for crafting. Today's project is featuring Stampin' Up's beautiful Designer Series Paper. With the ongoing sale, I bought a pack of the Sweet Symmetry paper and decided to create with it for this challenge. 


There are so many colors that coordinate with this paper: Bumblebee, Calypso Coral, Flirty Flamingo, Just Jade, Night of Navy. I chose Night of Navy, Flirty Flamingo and Bumblebee. I do not own the In Symmetry coordinating stamp set yet, but I found a flower from the Lovely You Stamp set that went really well with the paper. I'm also trying to show the shimmer of Wink of Stella I added to the flowers in the below close up.  


I found the idea for this card from another Demonstrator, Patty Bennet. It is a Tri-Fold Pocket card that can also be used as a gift card holder. I just loved the look of it and that it used a full 5 1/4" x 12" sheet of designer series paper! She has an instructional vide here Easy Tri-Fold Card with Pocket weekly crafting video


As you can see from this photo, it looks like a 'regular card' but their is just one layer of card stock on the bottom. When you open the top designer layer you've got the pocket card inside! 


The 'note card' is used to write a message and pulls out of the card. The trimmed triangle piece can be used to make another card (sharing this on Sunday!)

To make it a Gift Card holder, just remove the note card and slide in your gift card. I created a label for the sentiment on the front of the pocket instead.

Paper Pumpkin Blog Hop - July 2021 The Adventure Begins


Welcome to July's Paper Pumpkin Blog Hop. A Group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators join to create collaboratively using the current Paper Pumpkin Kit. Specifically, we design alternative cards, scrapbook pages, or other paper projects using the contents of the kit and a few coordinating additions from our own stash. 



This July Kit is so adorable, particularly the little camper. My daughter has remodeled an old Shasta Camper so I will definitely need to send her a card with the camper on it. 

The card kit contains enough supplies to create 12 cards and coordinating envelopes- what a bargain!!

I chose to pull all the ink colors and see how I could use them all in my card. When I make an alternative card, I like to use as many of the images in the stamp set as possible. I decided to use my favorite Baby Wipe Ink technique and combined Night of Navy, Garden Green, Granny Apple Green, Bermudan Bay and Mango Melody onto the baby wipe to stamp the evergreen image.  Here is jut the tree on the inside of the card and it really turned out gorgeous. 


 I then took the image of the tree 'pine needles'  onto the baby wipe ink and inked on top of the tree. 
Next I wanted to create a more realistic back ground and took to my blending brushes. On the top of the card I blended Night of Navy, then Bermuda Bay, and Crushed Curry which gives it an horizon look. 
On the lower part of the card I thought about how pine needles tend to create a more brownish ground. I blended Early Espresso and Mango Melody added the image of the random pine needles to the bottom. 


I just love how the color blending turned out on the card, really softened the background. Lastly I used Flirty Flamingo images of the bugs/butterflies. The sentiment was stamped onto one of the labels and cut diagonally, attached with dimensional along with a few of the sequin embellishments from the kits. 

Card base is Garden Green, a layer of Early Espresso and then Basic white for the stamped layer, the inside the card, and the sentiment. 

Paper Pumpkin has a new kit every month. Next Month's Kit is Hope Box. The kit contains supplies to create nine cards and coordinating envelopes and comes in a special box! The box is specially designed to turn into a Hope Box—a keepsake box full of cherished items to add hope to your life or in the lives of others. Coordinating colors: Bermuda Bay, Blackberry Bliss, Bumblebee, Melon Mambo, Petal Pink, Pool Party, Poppy Parade.

Color Challenge - Crafty Collaborations July 2021 Challenge

The Crafty Collaborations Team is comprised of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world. Each month we participate in several collaborative projects, including Blog Hops, like this one to inspire all of us in our passion for crafting. Today's feature involves a Color Challenge. Use the following 3 colors in a project: Granny Apple Green, Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo. It just so happens, these some of my personal favorites in the Stampin' Up family of colors. 

I decided to use the Sweet Strawberry Bundle. I recently used this in a Mystery card and wanted to play with it a bit more. I also thought the colors paired well to make strawberries and flowers. I ended up creating an easy fun fold card.
