Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop - Throwback Thursday

Today features the Stampin' Dreams hop theme 'Throwback Thursday'. This involves looking at past projects from my posts, but using current products. I reviewed my blog posts from last August and decided to use this sketch from an August 25, 2021 post - click here to view 

I recently received a new order that included the fun Witch Hat Builder punch and Black & White Designs 12 x 2 paper. I decided to play with these new products to create my card. 

I have a few birthday's around Halloween and while I don't always make them Halloween themed, one is a young girl who loves Halloween and so I thought this would be perfect for her!

• Basic White - scrap for sentiment and 5 1/4 x 4" layer inside of card
• Black & White Designs 12 x 2 DSP: 4 pieces: 1 7/8 x 2 1/2, and scrap to punch band for hat 
• If you want to add a bit of color to the paper, use your Stampin' blends to color the white and black side

SWAPS from Sale-A-Bration and New Added Items

 Hello Crafters! 

With Sale-A-Bration ending in just 15 days on 8/31, I wanted to share more of the card swaps I received from the team of demonstrators I am part of. 

The Wonderful World Stamp set and 12 x 12 Designer Paper Bundle is one of my favorites in the brochure. I've already shared quite a few of my projects I made using water coloring techniques. The images are beautiful and the paper is stunning. This has been a very popular free choice, in fact they ran out of stock for a brief period, but it is back in stock now. Place a retail order of $100 and choose it for free.

Next Up - the 12 x 12 Rings of Love designer paper paired with the Stylish Sketches. This DSP coordinates with the Ringed with Nature bundle, which was used in making the below card as well.  This paper is also back in stock after it had been out of stock for a brief period. 

Last but not least, the Hippest Hippos and the Hippo Dies.  This card has s o many cute details in it. You can choose he stamp set only with a $50 order, or both with a $100 order. I'd really recommend having the dies with the stamp set. I have shared a few of my own projects using this cute set already. It is a favorite of critter lovers!

I was planning to share some cards I made using the Tree Lot Dies, but since it is no longer available I decided to create with the Amazing Phrasing Stamp set and the Silver & Gold 6 x 6 Specialty paper. 

Using one of the Artistic Mix Decorative Masks, I used the Black stampin blend  on the narrow lines and blending brush in Petal Pink on the other lines. The Gold metallic lines of the paper still pop through. 

 

With so much Gold, I had to use the "Amazing" from the sentiments. I really like how this card turned out. The Silver and gold paper really has a lot of versatility when you consider adding color from our blending brushes.

Technique Tuesday - Fun Folds Blog Hop August 2022

Our Goal is to create, share, and inspire every crafter to keep our creative energy flowing.

It's the Monthly Technique Tuesday hop. Today's topic is Fun Folds, or Fancy folds as some demonstrators call them. I recently used up a bunch of designer series paper mixing and matching 3 designs to make Joy Fold cards. I understand the name for this fun fold was inspired by Joy who designed it. It is one of my favorite fun fold designs. 

I used the Design A Daydream 12 x 12 designer series paper, part of the exclusive host products when your order/workshop is $150 or greater. You get 48 sheets for just $18!

The 2nd layer inserts itself between the base card to create an accordion like opening to the card. You can also add more designer paper inside to decorate if you want. I needed a bunch of sympathy cards so I just mixed and matched the paper layers differently in each of the cards.
