#DOswts401 Shimmer/Sparkle Inspiration Hop

Today's feature project is sharing shimmer/sparkle projects! I haven't used my Shimmer paste very much, or the current masks so I decide to pull both out to create some shimmer on this card. 

Here are some tips on how I applied the Shimmer Paste: 

• Use the Stamparatus platform and the magnets to secure your mask on top of the cardstock layer. This really helps the mask from shifting when you apply the paste. 
• Laydown a silicone craft sheet first for ease of washing your surface once you're done
• I used the large palette knife when applying the paste. 
• Allow to dry well before trimming/applying to you card
• In this instance, I sponged on some Bermuda Bay color to add some depth to the paste/mask areas. 

This is a close up showing you the shimmer from the paste. Added shimmer on the card comes from the Glittered Organdy Ribbon and Fine Sparkle Adhesive Backed Gems.

Ink & Share Scrapbook Blog Hop - December 2022

Hello crafters! 

It's the monthly scrapbook project with the Ink & Share Scrapbook blog hop group. We are a a global group of creators comprised of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world. The common goal is to create, share, and inspire every crafter to keep our creative energy flowing.

This month's theme is to create a scrapbook layout of any chosen size and theme, but it must contain a hidden message. This can be under a lift up section, a hidden tag, moving part, the choice is yours! I don't often do hidden message type layouts, so I am intrigued to give it a try!

I wanted to have photos that more or less went with a hidden message, i.e. a surprise party, special gift that surprised someone, etc. As I began to thumb through my photos, I remembered the Christmas my son had so much fun with a large box his gift came in. He was more or less playing peek a boo with the box and I thought this could work well with this theme. 

I struggled with how I wanted to create the hidden message/photo. I prefer to keep things simple because scrapbooking can sometimes be overwhelming when we try to make it more complicated than it needs to be. A lift up tab seemed the best choice. I simply cut a 4 1/4 x 8 1/2 strip and folded it at 4 1/4. I punched the ends with the Very Best trio punch to make it look like a tag and then decorated it accordingly. I was pretty excited when I thought of the Peek A Boo phrase. It fits perfect with him peeking out of the box! 

I really like how this page turned out. It did come together rather quickly, other than searching through photo's to figure out which ones would fit best with this theme.

Scrapbooking Global - December 2022 Non-Traditional Christmas with 2022-2024 In Colors

Today's theme is brought to you by Sharon Dalton and we'll be using the 2022 - 2024 In Colors to create a Christmas inspired layout.

We are preparing to celebrate Christmas in MT with our grandsons, oh and of course their parents!! It was 2011 when the first grandchild was born, and we headed to MT to celebrate. We have not been back during the Christmas holiday since that time, so I decided some photos from that trip would be fun to pull out and scrapbook. 

Before I had even picked the photos, I knew I wanted to add a black layer with the Tahitian Tide. I think it just sets off the colors so well. I also had a bunch of very narrow strips of glimmer paper I wanted to use up. I put adhesive sheets on the basic white paper and placed them on. I then cut it to size and added the snowflake embossed vellum. The Wonderful Snowflakes I added are normally white, but I inked them up with the orchid oasis ink to set them off a bit.  

As soon as I added the photos, which by the way are not black and white, that's just how everything looked with the snow around us, the layout colors complimented the pictures perfectly. I never would have thought to use these colors if it hadn't been for this challenge!
