Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop - Ombre

The Crafty Collaborations Team is comprised of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world. Each month we participate in several collaborative projects, including Blog Hops, like this one to inspire all of us in our passion for crafting. Our Goal is to create, share, and inspire every crafter to keep our creative energy flowing.

Today features the monthly Stampin' Dreams Hop. The topic is creating Ombre projects. I immediately thought of the new 2022-2024 6x6 Glimmer Paper that has a beautiful Ombre fading in the glimmer paper.  However, I just made some cards using this paper and so I decided to try something different.  

I haven't created with watercolor in a while and thought this would be an easy way to create a DIY Ombre look to some background watercolor paper using similar color palette ink and the water painters. 

You can see by the 3rd try, I got better at applying the watercolor ink so it was not too streaky and blended together in a more Ombre look as I applied the dark to light ink with the water painters. My tip- more water is best! You can use drops of ink from a re-inker bottle or just dip your water color painter into the ink pad and then squeeze water from the painter onto the open side of your stamp pad or silicone mat. I decided to make my card with the 3rd pink sample as it turned out so pretty. 

 

Look how pretty this card is!! I thought the soft pinks had such a calming effect, I decided to make it a 'Thinking of You' card. I also just donated my stash of Sympathy and Thinking of You cards to the Uvalde Card drive, so I need to replenish them.
