Share it Sunday Blog Hop - June 2022 Retiring Brave Viking Set with New Snow Crystal

The Crafty Collaborations Team is comprised of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world. My group leader creates a monthly challenge and when we complete it, we get free stuff!! I can never pass up free stuff and besides it inspires me to get creative! This month's challenge is a 10-pin challenge theme. One of the pins is a 'Curve Ball challenge - make or pair together something unexpected'. 

One of my favorite stamp sets from the retiring Jan - June Mini catalog is the Brave Viking; it just makes me laugh when I see these characters. When I first received this set I colored and fussy cut up a bunch of the images and still had a pair left so I decided to use them in this card. 

I paired it with the above two Pre-order sets from the new July - Dec mini catalog: Snow Crystal and Very Best Occasions Stamp set. The Snow Crystal image really lends itself to embossing, particularly the emboss resist technique. 

The Emboss resist technique uses clear embossing powder. Take a blending brush, blend the ink over the image and wipe any excess ink off the embossed area. With all the ink surrounding the embossed image, it looks white as it is on white card stock.  

Don't you love the sentiment as well? I think this will make a very special Christmas card!
