Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop February 2022 - Happy Birthday I have very little of my own photos scrapbooked. Te

The Scrapbooking Global Team is comprised of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world. Each month we participate in a scrapbooking Blog Hop Theme, like this one, to inspire all of us in our passion for crafting. Our Goal is to create, share, and inspire every crafter to keep our creative energy flowing.

Today's theme is Happy Birthday, brought to you by Julia Quin.

I've already scrapbooked my granddaughter's 1st birthday and her 2nd birthday is not until March. My grandson's celebrated birthdays this year, but I do not have photos of their birthdays (yet!). So.... I turned to my own birthday pictures in my photo stash from years ago. It's odd how I have very little of my own photos scrapbooked. They are in decent albums to prevent any further 'decay', but not in any sort of story yet.

I had a few birthday party photo's to choose from, but this early one from 1969 was one I do have fond memories of. We were new to the neighborhood and I got to invite 3 girls over. As you can see in the photos, the clothing, home decor, wall paper, etc. were very typical of the late 60's. We lived in this house for close to 10 years, longest in one place when I was young, so it is very memorable. Ironically, one of my friends bought her parents house that she grew up in and still lives in the neighborhood. Sadly, another friend died in her early 50's of breast cancer, the 1st of her 6 siblings. Their home was the hub of the neighborhood, a safe haven for me to hang out and be a child. It was a great neighborhood to grown up in!

  • Basic White for sentiment

    • Real Red
    • Granny Apple Green

This came together quick & easy, which is typically my style. Not every page needs to be elaborate and when you have a lot of a similar topic, like birthdays, it's nice to get them on the page and tell the story rather than sit in an album that no one knows what the story is behind them.

Now Let's dig into more collaborative fun, Grab a beverage, sit back, and enjoy the hop! I hope you find awesome ideas and inspiration for your projects.

  3. What fun memories for you! I don't think anyone took many photos back then. I know I don't have many of my early years compared to the piles that I have of my kids. Or, I was just really into photography, lol.
