Share It Sunday November 2021 - Holiday Seasonal Sampler featuring Painted Christmas Suite

The Crafty Collaborations Team is comprised of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world. Each month we participate in several collaborative projects, including Blog Hops, like this one to inspire all of us in our passion for crafting. Our Goal is to create, share, and inspire every crafter to keep our creative energy flowing.

Today features the 'monthly Share It Sunday' projects where the team shares any project that have been working on.

I decided to put together the Squares I received from a Sampler Swap I participated in. Wondering what is a SAMPLER or a Swap?

You may have seen Samplers on Pinterest. They use cardstock layers with stamped/die cut/punched elements in lovely Home décor pieces, often for the holidays or season of the year. A theme is selected so the elements coordinate with each other.  When you receive a 'square design' from everyone (9 for an 8x8 frame, 16 for a 12 x 12 from), you can assemble them into a Home décor piece as desired.

Swapping is a great option for this type of project. I typically sign up for card swaps to get cards using products from a new catalog so I can share ideas from different products. In a Sampler, a swap works great because you don't have to come up with a design for all the different squares. Each of the creators that sign up to participate make enough of their square design and mail them to each participant.

I've heard demonstrators holding classes to create these design pieces as well. If I have enough interest, I will work on creating a class to create an 8 x 8 Sampler.

Other Details on making your sampler square:
___ create a 2" square to represent the theme.
___ mat the square with 2-1/4" square of coordinating cardstock.
___ if using DSP - it MUST be the DSP from the suite selected.
___ use colors (cardstock & ink) that coordinate with the DSP (Real Red, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Soft Succulent, Garden Green, Evening Evergreen, Pear Pizzazz, Soft Seafoam, Cherry Cobbler.)
___ you may use other products (punches/dies, embellishments, etc,) as long as they fit the theme and match the color scheme and are not retired products.

Since I did not have this suite, I used elements from the Sparkle of the Season bundle. The pine cones and pine bough stamp from the set fit well with the Painted Christmas products.

Assembling the layout:
  • Box frames work best as they allow room for the raised elements on your square. Many local retail craft stores sell sets of 8 x 8, 12x12 and other sizes.
  • Leave a 1/2' border around your base layer so the sample pieces are not covered by the frame. I used two layers, Real Red on the Bottom and A design from the Ever Eden Designer Series Paper
  • Play with your sample pieces on how you want to lay them out. This is probably the hardest part since there are so many choices on how you might arrange them.
  • I use Seal nd Multipurpose Glue to adhere the squares and paper layers. Dimensionals are an option as well.
I hope you are inspired to give a sampler a try. They are really fun to have on your wall for the holidays. Now Let's dig into more collaborative fun, Grab a beverage, sit back, and enjoy the hop! I hope you find additional ideas for your projects.

Paper Pumpkin Blog Hop - Alternative Inspiration November 2021

Welcome to the October Paper Pumpkin Blog Hop. A Group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators join to create collaboratively using the current Paper Pumpkin Kit. Specifically, we design alternative cards, scrapbook pages, or other paper projects using the contents of the kit and a few coordinating additions from our own stash.

The November Kit is Gifts Galore

Gift Galore Kit Details:

Details:
· Kit contains enough supplies to create nine treat packages—three each of three designs—and nine food-safe bags.
· This all-inclusive kit includes printed die cuts, die-cut boxes, cellophane treat bags, adhesive, and more!
· Includes an exclusive stamp set and a Classic Stampin’ Spot
· Coordinating colors: Evening Evergreen, Flirty Flamingo, Old Olive, Pool Party, Poppy Parade

The Die cuts in the cut are so fun. They are quite large, 6"+. While they can be trimmed/cut for cards, I decided to use them to decorate some small gift bags. With Christmas coming up, this is an easy way to dress up plain bags from the Dollar store (small 3/$1, or medium 2/$1) I used the tags/string, stamp set /sentiment die, ink and clips from the kit. I used a few other ink spot colors from prior kits: Poppy Parade, Pool Party and Mossy Meadow. I also added some embellishments to each of the bag. Last, but not least, I added several ribbon strings from my stash to dress up the bags as well.

Details:
Bag#1: Christmas tree
  • Whimsy & Wonder DSP _ I fussy cut the presents from the DSP under the tree and added a complimentary strip at the top.
  • Wonderful Snowflakes worked perfect as a 'star' on the tree.
  • The Tree was adhered with dimensional.
  • I added Holiday rhinestones and In-color jewels to the tree 'ornaments'
  • Ribbon is: Evening Evergreen, White Organdy Glitter, White Crinkled
Bag#1: Snowman
  • Gingerbread & Peppermint DSP - not a lot of paper was needed as the red bag matched well with the snowman color. I added a strip at the top and bottom of the bag. I decided to add a strip behind him just for a bit of contrast
  • Wonderful Snowflakes - what is a snowman without some snowflakes
  • The Snowman was adhered with dimensional.
  • I added Black Matte Dots over his eyes and buttons. The sentiment tag and snowflakes have the black cute stars and also a basic rhinestone on the tag.
  • Ribbon is: Real Red Sheer , Black Organdy Glitter, White Crinkled
Bag#1: Stack of Presents
  • Whimsy & Wonder DSP  - there is not a lot of white space so I added just a strip at the top.
  • The stamp set has a cluster of snow flakes image I stamped on the bag in pool party.
  • The die cut was adhered with dimensional.
  • I added Mettlic Pearls to the center f each bow on the presents.
  • Ribbon is: Evening Evergreen, White Organdy Glitter, Real Red Sheer
It was a lot of fun dressing up the gift bags. I'm pretty certain I'll be making a few more for my holiday gift packaging.
