Share it Sunday Blog Hop - August 2023

The Crafty Collaborations Team is comprised of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world. Each month we participate in several collaborative projects, including Blog Hops, like this one to inspire all of us in our passion for crafting. Our Goal is to create, share, and inspire every crafter to keep our creative energy flowing.

Today features the 'monthly Share It Sunday' projects where the team shares any project that have been working on.

In July, I attended a local leadership event in MN called Create & Connect. For the event we were encouraged to create card Swaps. This is a full card using current Stampin' Up! products to trade with other Demonstrators at the event. I created 26 cards using various designs of Designer series paper, mostly from the Delightfully Eclectic 12 x 12 DSP.

The cards were simply, quick & easy to assemble. The Black & White card was for none other than Stampin' Up! CEO Sara Douglass who attended the event! I was so excited to meet her. I follow all her videos and FB live demonstrations and have seen her speak at other on-line events. I've always found her to be very genuine and down to earth. Meeting her in person simply affirmed my opinion of her. It was so fun!!

#DOswts417 - Color Combo Inspiration Hop

Welcome to the DO Stamper Stars Blog Hop. I am a member of the DO Stamper Stars team which is comprised of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who are part of Dawn Olchefkse's leader team. Each month we participate in 2 Blog Hops, like this one, to inspire all of us in our passion for crafting. Our Goal is to create, share, and inspire every crafter to keep our creative energy flowing.

Today's inspiration is using the above three colors. When I saw these colors, I immediately thought of the Delightfully Eclectic 12 x 12 DSP which I have many scraps in my stash. I picked three designs with the matching the color combo. Based on the size of the scraps I came up with the below card.

The Mix & Match of various DSP scrap designs can work really well in many different card designs. Adding the lovely Bubble Bath ribbon is a nice finishing touch to the card.

Card Details
  • Stamps
    • Earthen Textures Bundle
  • Paper
    • Basic White Thick Base Card: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 score 4 1/4

    • Calypso Coral
  • Other
    • Stampin Cut & Emboss Machine
    • 3/8" Sheer Ribbon combo pack

Crafty Challenge - August 2023 Sketch

The Crafty Collaborations Team is comprised of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world. Each month we participate in several collaborative projects, including Blog Hops, like this one to inspire all of us in our passion for crafting. Our Goal is to create, share, and inspire every crafter to keep our creative energy flowing.

Today features the monthly Crafty Challenger projects Featuring the below sketch.

This sketch is versatile in that you can add a card stock layer and the card can be vertical or horizontal. I decided to try both.
Sticking with my need for male cards, I turned to the Let's Go Fishing 12 x 12 designer series paper. I only had 6x6 samples from my product share, but it was easy to cut and mix & match the designs. The cuts are as follows from the vertical card and if using a layer on the card, adjust accordingly if not using a layer.
  • lower layer 2" x 3 7/8
  • upper left 3" x 1 3/8
  • upper right 3" x 2 3/8

The die cut for the sentiment is from the All That Dies. I added some ribbon at the bottom of the sentiment, but you could use paper and the banner from same die set to create a similar look. I kind of like the horizontal look better, but they are both functional!

Card Details
  • Stamps
    • Courage & Faith
  • Paper
    • Pecan Pie (horizontal) Basic Grey (vertical) card base: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score 4 1/4
    • Very Vanilla Layer 5 1/4 x 4 + 2 1/2 x 1/34 for sentiment die cut
    • Let's Go Fishing DSP: measurements note above
  • Ink
    • Pecan Pie or Basic Grey
  • Other
    • Stampin Cut & Emboss
    • All That Dies
    • Ribbons: Pecan Pie 1/2" bordered ribbon or 3/8" Textured Ribbon in Pebbled Path
    • Embellishments: Opaque Ovals or Classic Matte Dots
    • Adhesives: Seal, Multipurpose glue, Mini Glue Dots, Dimensionals
Now Let's dig into more collaborative fun. Grab a beverage, sit back, and enjoy the hop! I hope you find awesome ideas and inspiration for your projects.

Scrapbooking Global - August 2023

The Scrapbooking Global Team is comprised of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world. Each month we participate in a scrapbooking Blog Hop Theme, like this one, to inspire all of us in our passion for crafting. Our Goal is to create, share, and inspire every crafter to keep our creative energy flowing.

Today's challenge is brought to you by Sharni Haines who provided the below sketch for inspiration of our layout using the Stampin' Up Product

At the time I am creating this layout and writing this post, my daughter is due to deliver her second child any day now. They decided not to find out the sex of the baby, so we are all waiting impatiently for the baby to be born. I'll be heading to her home the week of 8/13 assuming the baby will be born before then.  Additionally, she recently celebrated her 30th birthday which always gets me reminiscing about her birth. I have not done much to create a scrapbook of her baby years, although they are organized in an album. I pulled out this album and grabbed some of the birth pictures. I selected enough for this special double page layout.

Once I figured out the photos, I looked through my stamp sets and pulled any sentiment or images that would go with the celebration of the birth. I ended up using 8 stamp sets!

You can see in the first of the 2 pages below there are lots of little sentiments stamped on the half circles, which I displayed in a bit of a different pattern than the sketch. 'Oh Happy Day' also stands out as the main vibe of the page. I couldn't resist using the crown from Friendship royalty.

On the 2nd page I added more of the birth story to the journaling block. All the journaling was typed so I could fit it on the page. The main journalling block, I cut into strips and pasted it onto the lined paper design from the Delightfully Eclectic DSP.

I was initially intimidated by the sketch as I don't typically use a lot of embellishments/dies on my layouts. However, when you have a special story or group of photos, it does work well to highlight how wonderful the occasion was. My daughter's birth story never gets old and sometimes feels like it was just yesterday I held her in my arms.

UPDATE: Grandbaby was born on August 9, 2023. It is a healthy baby girl. Mom is doing well. By the time this post is live, I'm hold her in my loving arms! Enjoy this sweet picture of  my daughter and baby Isabella.
