Sketch Challenge - Crafty Collaborations June 2021 Challenge

The Crafty Collaborations Team is comprised of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world. Each month we participate in several collaborative projects, including Blog Hops, like this one to inspire all of us in our passion for crafting. Our Goal is to create, share, and inspire every crafter to keep our creative energy flowing.

Today's feature involves a Sketch Challenge. The sketch is interpreted according to the creator.

I had some cut up pieces of the Expressions in Ink Designer Series Paper that started my inspiration. I decided I would stay with the suite and use the Artistically Inked Bundle. I paired it with the new in colors Polished Pink and Pale Papaya. Lastly, I used one of the messages from my stash inked and cut with the Many Messages bundle. It's so handy to have these die cut and ready to add to any card! This set and die cut is in the new catalog, but the bundle price offered in the January to June catalog expires TODAY!

As you can see, I decided to make my card vertical instead of horizontal. I made my squares larger than the sketch has in the layout, which also meant my die cut elements were placed slightly different than the sketch. I find sketch inspirations to be an easy way to get inspired to create cards. With the layout decided, half the hard work is done!

Share It Sunday - June Blog Hop featuring Nothing's Better Than Stamp Set

The Crafty Collaborations Team is comprised of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world. Each month we participate in several collaborative projects, including Blog Hops, like this one to inspire all of us in our passion for crafting. Our Goal is to create, share, and inspire every crafter to keep our creative energy flowing.

Today features the monthly Share It Sunday projects where the team shares any project that have been working on.

This past week I held 4 Coffee & Cards events at local coffee Shops. I advertised at the coffee shops on various community Facebook pages and an invite on a coffee club and my own Facebook page. I had 8 people show up to the various locations. Half of the attendees were people I knew and the other half were new people interested in cardmaking, particularly with a local person. We made 2 cards from our new card kits. I specifically chose the kits without stamping as I was not sure if I would have experienced or new card makers. I'm glad I chose the simple cards because the majority of attendees had either not made cards or described themselves as a novice.

With the coffee theme of the week, I made up a dozen or so cards with the Nothing's Better Than Set. This set was introduced in the 20-21 annual catalog and it is one of my favorites.  Below is a one sample card.

I gave each coffee shop owner a "coffee" thank you card, which they loved!! Additionally several of the attendees bought cards from my stash of handmade cards I brought to the classes

There are several different sentiments with this set, which I did intermix in the cards I made.

DOswts365 - Patriotic Inspiration Hop

Welcome to the DO Stamper Stars Blog Hop. The DO Stamper Stars is comprised of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who are part of Dawn Olchefske's leader team. Each month we participate in 2 Blog Hops, like this one, to inspire all of us in our passion for crafting. Our Goal is to create, share, and inspire every crafter to keep our creative energy flowing.

This challenge is inspired by the upcoming Independence Dday celebrations on 4th of July! Red, White & Blue are obvious colors to use in this card. Additionally, a flag theme was an easy choice for me, although I realized I don't own any stars! I decided to use the daisy punch and make a it a slim line card as well

I really love how it turned out! My wish is for the US to shine with a positive light on the world.

Paper Pumpkin Blog Hop – June 2021 Expressions In Color

This month’s Paper Pumpkin kit is absolutely gorgeous! It came in a very special box to match the alcohol based paper included in the kit.

This kit contains enough supplies to create 9 cards—3 each of 3 designs—and coordinating envelopes. This all-inclusive kit includes printed card bases, die-cut paper pieces, embellishments, adhesive, and more!
  • Card size: 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" (10.8 x 14 cm)
  • Envelope size: 4-1/2" x 5-3/4" (11.4 x 14.6 cm)
  • Coordinating colors: Bumblebee, Evening Evergreen, Fresh Freesia, Polished Pink
As always, this month’s kit features an exclusive stamp set. But, this month’s kit also includes not one, but two Classic Stampin’ Spots! I

Last but not least, this kit coordinates with Artistically Inked Stamp set, using the alcohol ink paper in the card bases and coordinating elements.

Instructions come with every kit the give a guideline on how to make the 3 different designs.

However, the stamp sets in these kits are great as theycan always be used for other projects as well. I used the stamp set to make some alternative cards with this kit.

In the first card, I added Blackberry Bliss ink and card stock layers  with the Bumble bee base card and Evening evergreen accents. I used 3 of the stamps to make a collage of images on white card stock and added a die cut behind the kit tag. The twine an embellishments from the kit worked perfect. The card has a very 'sunny' feel to it.

The second card I used with the smaller note card base and layer. I added a 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" diamond shape layer of white to stamp the floral images and thanks sentiment. I added the twine and embellishments as well.

These were both easy cards to create since the main layers were ready to use.

Paper pumpkin produces a new kit every month. Next month's kit is an adventure kit with supplies to create 12 cards. Includes inspirational sentiments and adventure-themed imagery featuring these nature-inspired coordinating colors: Basic Black, Basic White, Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Early Espresso, Flirty Flamingo, Garden Green, Granny Apple Green, Mango Melody, Night of Navy

Don’t forget to check out all the fun projects my friends made as part of this blog hop! The Crafty Collaborations group puts on several blog hops a month, as well as monthly tutorial bundles, and other ‘work smarter not harder’ projects.
