DOSWTS 361 - Baby Wipe Inspiration Hop

I decided to go with ink refill colors of Early Espresso, Coastal Cabana and So Saffron. Figuring out color combinations can be made easier by using the Stampin' Up!©  Color Coach In additional to refill ink bottles you of course need Baby wipes, any wipe will do. I also used the craft mat to save on clean up time. If you don't have a craft mat, make sure your surface is easily cleaned so the inks don't stain through the baby wipe.

Once the color decision was made, ink up your baby wipe with the ink refill colors, darkest to lightest, leaving no 'white' blanks. Tip, 'stamp' your image in the baby wipe first so you can see an outline of where you need to ink. Once inked, stamp your image on the inked baby wipe and then onto your paper. I chose the shimmery white cardstock which works really well for water coloring techniques. It does not take long to dry and you can begin to assemble your card.

This card gives you a sneak peak at the Elegantly Said stamp set from the 21-22 Annual Catalog available to order May 4, 2021. I am having a lot of fun making samples to show case this beautiful suite of products. I also added behind the punch sentiment, the new Simply Elegant Trim from this suite. Additional details to make the card are:

Paper
Shimmery White: trimmed to 4 3/4" x 3 1/3", + scrap for punched sentiment
Early Espresso 2 3/4" x 5 1/4", + scrap for punch layer
Coastal Cabana 5 1/4" x 4"
So Saffron Card base 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scored 4 1/4 + scrap for punch layer

Other
Tailored Tag punch - 3
Silicone Craft Mat

I encourage you to give this technique a try. Experiment with new color combos and see how great they work together.

Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop - April 2021 - Scrap It In The Round Theme Challenge

Welcome to April's Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop. This Month's theme is Scrap It In the Round.

When I started thinking about this theme I immediately thought of a Circle of Friends. I have many photos of friends I've taken over the years so it was hard to choose. Additionally, I moved 5 years go and have made new friends that I wanted to include in this layout. Here's a view of the circles I decided to use.

My first attempt had a lot of small different shaped size of circles, but the layout was much too busy for my taste. The sliver and gold elements were inspired from the Girl Scout song 'Make New Friends'. I was a Girl Scout growing up and a leader for my daughters troops. I also had another quote in my 'toolbox' from Flavia Weedn that I've wanted to use in a friend theme scrapbook. Below is a photo of both quotes I'm incorporating into the layout.

Last addition to the layout is a title "Circle of Friends"  put together using the Playful Alphabet Die cuts. This is a die cut I highly recommend for every scrap booker to have in their tool kit. I also added 2 elements from of the Forever Gold Laser Cut specialty paper, but flipped them on the white side .

Below is the final page with all of the elements and photos in place. I have held numerous gatherings over the years specifically celebrating my friendships. I am forever thankful to friends that are in my life and have supported me throughout the years during good and challenging times. Many of these friends I have not been able to see during the pandemic and I miss them terribly, but we shall gather again soon.

Thank you to Sara Levin for organizing the theme of this month's Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop. I enjoyed the creativity of designing this page.

DOswts360 Sketch Inspiration Hop

Welcome to the DOswts#360 Sketch Inspiration Blog Hop. Below is the sketch graphic we are working from to create the card.

I decided to go with a black & white theme using the True Love Designer Series Paper. I cut 1 1/4 ' strips of mix n' match designs and die cut them with the Stitched So Sweetly dies. To make them different lengths like the sketch, I cut 2 - 1" strips to adhere to the end of 2 of the pieces. The pieces were then adhered to the white card stock.

For the Sentiment I used the new Etched In Nature Stamp Set (pg. 11 in the 21-22 Annual Catalog) White & Black layers were cut using the Stitched So Sweetly Dies and adhered to card with dimensionals. I stamped the Butterfly in black and fussy cut it, adhering with mini dimensionals. Last I added a Matte Black dot.

I love how elegant black and white cards look and yet this card was very simple to make. To step it up, add a layer of embossed basic white card stock before adhering the DSP. Consider embossing the butterfly for a nice sparkle.
